5-week Regenerative Resilience Course

Cultivating organizational resilience in times of uncertainty

This 5-week regenerative capacity-building course is for anyone seeking to build genuinely resilient organisations and teams, especially in times of disruption and change. Inspired by a living systems approach, we’ll cover how to cultivate health, resilience and flexibility using a regenerative approach to organizational design.

  • Resilience is foundational organizational infrastructure that we can design for, not a wellbeing add-on.

Why regenerative resilience now?

Right now, across the private and public sectors, HR teams, leaders, and employees are navigating:

  • Pressure to adapt to new tools and technologies, leading to tech overwhelm and fatigue.

  • Alarmingly high levels of stress and burnout, with 83% of workers feeling some degree of burnout.

  • An increasing number of resignations at a senior level that are not only costly, but also leave teams and organizations fragile.

  • Growing pressure to deliver more with fewer resources (time, finance, people).

  • Geopolitical and economic uncertainties.

  • Urgent transformation and change-management agendas without the trust, culture, and feedback mechanisms in place to make them a reality.

  • The pressure to make difficult decisions that won’t compromise the integrity, values, or overall health of the organization.

When individual and collective nervous systems are overwhelmed, organizations tighten control and respond from a place of fear and reactivity, losing access to creativity, long-term thinking, and wise decision-making.

Trust, collaboration, psychological safety, and the ability to make wise decisions aren’t something that can be forced through top-down leadership. They are the by-products of an organizational design grounded in living-systems.

  • In the coming years, the capacity of organizations to adapt, respond, and evolve while facing disruption, without burning people out or hardening into fear-based top-down control, will define whether or not they will not only survive, but truly thrive.

Resilience with a regenerative lens

Much of what is currently labelled “resilience” is asking people to endure unhealthy conditions for longer. From a regenerative perspective, resilience is the capacity of a living system to adapt, respond, and transform while remaining in right-relationship with oneself, with others, and with the wider ecosystems it depends on.

Organizations are living systems, yet most of us still live within the story of the organization as a machine.

Living systems require healthy nervous systems, strong relationships, coherent values, clear feedback-loops, constant responsive learning, adjusting, evolving, and adaptive flexible structures. Without these foundations, no strategy, transformation plan, or wellbeing initiative will succeed.

Program structure

5 weeks, 3 hours a week of live sessions, minimal homework. We will gather 2x every week for two types of live online sessions:

Insights session: 1x weekly two-hour session where we explore theory, cases, and frameworks.

Emergence session: 1x weekly one-hour session where we practice our capacity to hold space for emergence: what feels alive around this week's topic? How does this translate to my reality? What has this activated in me?

Week by week breakdown

  • Week 1: From mechanistic fragility to regenerative resilience

We explore the shift from mechanistic to living systems organizational design and see to what extent degenerative cultural patterns and a permanent crisis mode erodes organizational capacity. We introduce a regenerative lens on resilience – seeing it as an organizational capacity that emerges from healthy systems that we can learn how to cultivate.

  • Week 2: Inner resilience determines outer resilience

This week focuses on the human foundation of resilience: the nervous system, our bodies and our brains. Participants learn how individual and collective stress responses influence leadership behaviour, collaboration, and organizational culture. You get an understanding of the consequences of poor organizational health and we explore strategic entry points for strengthening the overall organizational health and resilience.

  • Week 3: Understanding patterns of resilience in living systems to translate them into organizational culture

This week, we explore organizational health through a living systems approach. We unpack living-systems logics such as feedback loops, energy and information flows, keystone species, sense-and-respond capacities, interconnected relationships, trust, and self-organized localized decision-making. We strengthen our capacity to see organizational dynamics and patterns through a new lens to enable you to design for greater health and resilience.

  • Week 4: The Regenerative Resilience Framework

In this week, we bring all the theory and cases we have explored together in a dynamic and practical framework you can use to identify structural leverage points and avenues of action within your organization. This will help you gain an overview of your priorities when designing for greater organizational health and resilience. Rather than focusing on large-scale reorganization, the emphasis here is on identifying key leverage points – small, strategic interventions that can significantly increase an organization’s capacity to sense, respond, and learn.

  • Week 5: Cultivating regenerative resilience capacities

Every successful transformation towards greater health and resilience starts with deeply understanding the essence of regenerative capacities. We explore some of the most essential ones in this final week to help activate your potential as a facilitator of increased organizational resilience. These include holding space for emergence, deep listening, both-and thinking, holding polarities, and the capacity of staying with the tensions and seeing them as entry points of evolution.

Theories & Frameworks

The theory and frameworks we will weave with throughout the 5-week Regenerative Resilience Course include:

  • Maturana & Varela (autopoiesis)

  • Illya Prigogine (far-from-equilibrium, dissipative structures)

  • Fritjof Capra (living systems synthesis)

  • Lynn Margulis (symbiosis)

  • McEwen (allostasis & regulation)

  • Steve Porges (Polyvagal theory)

  • Donella Meadows (12 leverage points to intervene in living systems)

  • Laura Storm’s own theories and frameworks, including the Resilience Mapping Framework, inner–outer–ecosystemic coherence, and much more

  • And plenty of rich cases from organizations nourishing a healthier approach to building resilience capacity in these times of disruption

Questions You May Have

  • Our Insights sessions are designed around the theme of the month and what's most alive in the community. It could be a deeper exploration of the wisdom of nature, Indigenous wisdom, the Story of Separation, more business cases, additional frameworks, exercises, or yin-style reflective sessions. Emergence sessions also focus on the theme of the month and offer an unstructured space to come together, reflect, and integrate in community. In our sessions with Guest speakers, we allow these regenerative pioneers and practitioners to offer pieces they feel called to deliver to us. All guests are ready to co-create and look forward to interesting sharing.
Insights, Emergence, and Guest speakers sessions are recorded and uploaded to the Academy platform, so if you can’t attend, you can catch up later. Breakout rooms, however, remain private and are not recorded.
Café sessions are also live unstructured spaces hosted by alumni to strengthen our community, and these will not be recorded.

  • This Journey is designed with the intention of tapping into the alchemy of structure and emergence during a whole year. Some elements are fixed, such as the pre-recorded modules; the known pieces of the puzzle that you can engage with at your own pace via the Academy platform. You will get access to the platform the moment you sign up for the Journey. The live sessions, in contrast, create a collective space for what wants to emerge. Together, we dive deep, share lessons learned, and reflect on the content pillars. Laura Storm will be the main space holder to guide and deeply sense into where we need to go next together as a collective.

  • During the live sessions, there will always be breakout rooms where you can connect with fellow Journey travellers. Once you sign up, you’ll have access to both the Academy and the Community platform, where you can discuss, share, and connect with the Journey community, either through the open channel or via direct messaging. For those interested and committed, we also offer the opportunity to join a Home Circle, a smaller group of around six Journey travelers who learn and grow together in a self-organized way throughout the year.

  • We have our first live Insights and Emergence sessions in February, followed by approximately 2–3 sessions per month throughout 2026. Each live session lasts two hours.
How much time to allocate depends on how deep you want to take your practice. Going through all the pre-recorded modules on the Academy platform (which we highly recommend) totals around 15 hours of video content, plus suggestions for deeper exploration and exercises. Guest Speaker sessions, Café sessions, and other bonus sessions throughout the year are there to inspire, offer insights, and strengthen the connections within the community. As well as the invitations to join a Home Circle or other self-organized gatherings from the community.

We invite you to see the offerings of the Journey as a rich buffet; you can receive what you need at any given moment, take a break, and come back when you're ready. No stress, no exams, no grades. You can shake off the pressure of performing like a “good student”. Some participants find the live sessions and community engagement most valuable and may not watch all the pre-recorded modules. And that’s perfectly fine. You can always revisit any module referenced in the live sessions whenever you like, and if you miss an Insights, Emergence, or Guest speaker session, the recordings will be available on the Academy platform shortly after.

  • We know that some people feel a year-long time commitment is intense. And we understand it can seem daunting, maybe even overwhelming. The reason the Journey is a year is that we want to be able to slow down together, integrate, get to know each other, and build community, without feeling like we need to rush. Regenerative ways of being and leading take time to integrate, embody. It's why this year-long Journey honours a cyclical approach to learning. We know that for many alumni, experiencing this slowness alongside busy lives provided a sense of sanctuary. And we also know that sometimes people need to step out for a little while, because they have other commitments and 'life happens'. This is okay! You can always jump back in. Our Weekly Navigation emails allow you to always be in tune with the experience.

  • Yes, the price for students is significantly lower, with the option to divide payments. We also offer the possibility to apply for a scholarship, mainly open to applicants of the Global South / Global Majority. Find the information and the link above on the page to submit your scholarship application.

  • We hear you! We do our best to bring the Journey to life beyond your screen, nurturing experiences that honour your bodies, attention, the need for rest, and energizing moments. Our live sessions integrate embodiment and deep connection; these are NOT two hours of listening to a lecture! While listening in, you can go for a walk, move around, rest while lying down – whatever your body and self need. Many of our sessions offer interaction and exercises to participate in, if that feels good for you in the moment. We also offer suggestions for practices and embodiment in-between sessions. What's more, the community self-organizes in-person gatherings that provide opportunities for alumni and current travellers to connect, collaborate, and practice their regenerative leadership skills together.

  • All content, communications, and the main language spoken in live sessions is English, as it allows the best connection and integration within our global community. We recommend you check with yourself whether English might be a big barrier for you to get the most out of this experience. To support integration, all pre-recorded modules on the Academy platform include captions and detailed transcripts. Live session recordings also offer English auto-generated captions that you can activate while watching.

That said, we have a diverse community, and many Journey travellers and space holders are fluent in other languages, so some interactions in smaller groups or 1:1 conversations may happen in a language you feel more comfortable with. You can also connect with other members in our self-organized groups, many of which are region- or language-based.

  • Since a central part of embodying regenerative consciousness is the awareness that no one can be certified in it... We deliberately don't offer certificates. But we do offer an “un-certificate” at the end of the Journey. This is a document you can share that shows you have attended the 12-month learning Journey into Regenerative Leadership, but it’s not a certification or proof that you have now become a Regenerative Leader. We understand that the process of becoming one is an ongoing life-long journey, and we are all in it.
