Powerful ripples are activated when the right people meet
What happens when you embark on a full year of transformation alongside a community of kindred spirits?
When you resist the pull of quick courses and instant solutions, and instead align yourself with the the pace of deep change and the power of collective thriving, a new level of transformation unfolds. Regenerators alumna, Community and Ecosystem Nurturer Judit Sáez Gonzálvez talks about what is at the heart of the transformational Regenerative Leadership Journey: its community.
Not just a program that happens to last twelve months, but a deliberate choice to honor the kind of transformation that can only happen in community, over time, with space for relationships to deepen and continue evolving. A year-long experience that proves transformation is not a solo endeavor, but something that blossoms in the fertile ground of community. And keeps growing far beyond.
Community is at the core of deep transformation
And we don’t say deep transformation lightly. Precisely because of community, the transformation that the Regenerative Leadership Journey container can hold space for is life-changing.
When committed regenerative change makers meet and explore, experiment, share ideas and perspectives for a full year we see again and again that something no short of magic happens. We have seen that happened for the past 5 years now through the Regenerative Leadership Journey and we want to share some of these insights about the transformative power of being in community for a full year:
“The beautiful souls I’ve met on this journey have made it one of the most profoundly transformational experiences of my life.” Brad Peirce, 2022 Alumni
“…it was not just the year of the journey (which I did in 2022), it is the ongoing connection, inspiration and collaboration, the continuous learning. Growing and thriving which makes this program so special.” Andres Ellenberger, 2022 Alumni
“Three years later, this community is still quietly supporting me, like a virtual warm hug, a wisdom circle, a gathering of kindred spirits and elders, all at once.” Ishwari Thopte, 2023 Alumni
“It has brought me friends for one lifetime and inspiration for the next few.” Alessandra C. Marazzi, 2024 Alumni
“Three years later, this experience still reverberates in how I see the world, with several lifelong friends made along the way.” Caleb Quaid, 2022 Alumni
“I feel fortunate to have been part of the 2022 co-weavers. I can attest to the partnerships and friendships that led to ReComms, Re:Storied, and even a collective book project, which are embodied regenerative experiences in themselves.” Emilie Grau, 2022 Alumni
“The biggest gift of this journey is the unbelievable community of lovely people who all want to contribute to a profound systemic shift and a more connected and human world.” Veerle Wallebroek, 2024 Alumni
The time of the lone wolf is over
We start every journey by sharing an image of a wolfpack. Because “the time of the lone wolf is over” and so many of us feel the exhaustion from doing this work alone. We deeply need eachother now.
This line comes from the Hopi Elders prophecy, warning us about the times we’re living in; a call for standing up and taking conscious action together. This is not the usual story of the hero’s journey, but a tale of transformation rooted in relationality, collective leadership, and witnessed vulnerability.
As of today, January 2026, the Regenerators community is formed by over 1,000 people from more than 70 countries who, at some point since 2021, decided to embark on a deep exploration of regenerative leadership as a collective adventure.
Many started the path solo, claiming to feel alone, misunderstood in their circles, navigating doubt, craving community. Something we learn when we ask about their motivations to join the Regenerative Leadership Journey.
I was one of those. I started the 2023 Journey feeling ungrounded, lost, and in search of belonging, and I finished feeling connected, not only to my friends in the cohort, but also to myself and the vast web of life. You can read my personal story of how I went from Journey traveler to Regenerators’ Community and Ecosystem Nurturer here.
This is how it usually goes. By the end of the Journey, many can’t contain their nourished smiles, words of love, and teary eyes. I feel like this is where the medicine we need is at.
“Connection and Belonging are by far the most shared words in the chat of our Zoom sessions.”
A Journey and community that keeps activating powerful ripples
365 days of navigating regenerative transformation from the inside out with a group of (once) strangers is so powerful it creates life-lasting bonds. We wouldn’t be practicing regeneration if this learning experience were just another “Check, next.”
The Regenerative Leadership Journey is not designed to be extracted from, for shallow networking, and relationships that start and finish with the year. It is an invitation to be part of a living, expanding ecosystem for our personal and collective landscapes to thrive.
Just like the constellations that emerge in this transformational year.
We want to share some of the powerful relationships that were formed within the container of the Regenerators community to hopefully inspire you to see that building communities is essential and so needed right now:
Emilie and Jean-Philippe met in the Journey in 2022 and, along with their friend Niels and a shared passion for communications, they birthed re:storied in 2023, an agency for regenerative communications and experiences. When in 2024 the Regenerators team were looking to commission new artwork to launch the next Journey, we reached out to the community. That email was forwarded to Niels, and until today we’ve been collaborating and Niels just graduated from the Journey as well.
Konkankoh and Heide Maria shared paths in the 2022 Journey. Konkankoh is an Indigenous elder from Cameroon exiled in Europe, founder of African Way. Heide is a German academic with a background in plant ecology unlearning the Western scientific worldview who lived in Denmark. Today they have moved together to Lagos, Portugal, where they are restoring a ruin as an experiment in regenerative living, a Peace Village. In 2025, the new initiative Afro-European Friendship Community emerged in the same space, co-stewarded alongside a group of other Regenerators community members. Konkankoh has also been one of the recurrent guest speakers of the Regenerative Leadership Journey.
Susanne, Veerle, and Bruno didn’t just experience the same Journey in 2024: they developed a friendship thanks to their Home Circle (a small group of 5-7 people to navigate the year together that all participants can opt into). In November 2024, they took their Home Circle beyond the screen and met to spend a full day working, cooking, co-creating, and re-nourishing together.
After a couple of years of Journey cohorts, many in the community were craving the post-community: a space for alumni to come together, strengthen relationships, and keep on practicing regeneration. At the beginning of 2024, Kapil from the 2022 cohort and Carla from 2023 established the foundations of the Community of Care and Practice: a community for and by Regenerators Academy alumni. With the current team of alumni co-pollinators Melanie, Malick and Nikki, the community is self-sustained and collective held by all the members. You can read more about the emergence of this space in this article by Kapil.
When the book by Laura Storm and Giles Hutchins, Regenerative Leadership, was launched in Danish in 2023, Laura and the Danish community designed an alternative event to present the book and created Regenerative Voices, a one-day festival to celebrate local regenerative practitioners with a variety of talks and sessions. This first one-day festival has created the foundation for the danish Regenerators Journey alumni to form a community-owned movement and association dedicated to strengthening the regenerative field in Denmark via co-created events, festivals, and beyond. You can see more here Regenerative Stemmer.
And there are many more examples of powerful new regenerative projects, partnerships and friendships that started in the soil of the year-long Journey. We would need dozens of pages to write about all the relationships, projects, and initiatives that keep emerging in the Regenerators community ecosystem.
From the Regenerative Leadership book collaboratively translated into Dutch, Danish, German, Portuguese, Brazilian, Japanese, and Spanish; to new courses designed and held by alumni in Spanish and Japanese, following the content and rhythm of the original Journey; to initiatives for podcasts and incubators; to the dozens of physical gatherings that the community has self-organized around the world over the years.
Yes, the year-long Regenerative Leadership Journey is a powerful transformational experience in community.
And, oh boy, all the wonders that come after that.
The Regenerative Leadership Journey 2026 is open to welcome new travelers until January 27. Join us now or sign up to the free Taster session on January 20 to get a sense of what this year-long experience (and beyond) is about.
